Welcome to New Jersey's only Electric Cooperative!
Earlier year, electric cooperatives launched Co-ops Vote, a non-partisan effort to boost voter turnout on Election Day. With the November elections just around the corner, we need your help.
In 2012, voter turnout declined across the nation, but that decline was amplified in rural America - turnout dropped 18%. This election gives us a tremendous opportunity to remind elected officials that rural America votes and rural America matters.
Did you know that just nine percent of America selected Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as the presidential nominees? Unfortunately, most of the nation chose not to vote in the primaries. That's a troubling trend that we hope to change.
Co-ops Vote is on a mission to reverse those statistics. Our campaign has reached hundreds of thousands of people. With your help, we will reach thousands more.
Thanks for supporting your local cooperative and the Co-ops Vote program.
Cooperatives like ours operate differently than most businesses. We are a consumer-owned business, which means that you and your neighbors actually own your electric utility. You're a member, not a customer. And as your cooperative, we strive to deliver safe, affordable and reliable electricity.
Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative serves over 12,000 members in portions of Augusta, Barry Lakes, Frankford Township, Hardyston, Highland Lakes, Lafayette, Vernon and Wantage, all in Sussex County, NJ and a small portion of Orange County, NY. Cooperatives have their roots in their local communities and the employees at Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative are no different. We are proud to live in the communities we serve, to support our hometown businesses and share the values of rural New Jersey.
